Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Women Wing Central in collaboration with LRH organised a free medical camp and seminar regarding breast cancer awareness and treatment at Kohat.
According to a press release, the aim of the camp and seminar was to raise awareness on how to prevent and treat breast cancer, which is spreading rapidly. Seminar and camp was arranged with special co-operation by MPA Ziaullah Khan Bangush and PTI Central Vice President Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Neelum Toru with support from Joint Secretary Central Kinza Iqdedar and Vice President South Farzana Safir.
According to statistics, Pakistan is on top of the list in Asia when it comes to breast cancer. ie one out of every eight womens suffer from this disease. The camp led by Prof. Abdul Latif Khan, Dean, LRH, along with central Vice President Neelum Toru while female doctors and nurses from surgical unit participated in the camp. “All women have a risk of breast cancer, so it’s important to consult a doctor if you have any symptoms,” she said.
Dean Prof Abdul Latif Khan said that LRH has a prominent position in terms of teaching training. He said that not only breast cancer but other related diseases can be prevented if diagnosed at early stage. Dean LRH added that along with treatment, prevention of various diseases is also the responsibility of health care providers and LRH will continue to provide its services in this regard.
