LAHORE: As Lahoris celebrate Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH) tomorrow, police have chalked out a tight security plan to avoid any untoward incident.
More than 6,000 policemen and officials will guard the provincial capital. Highly trained snipers will be deployed on rooftops of buildings located adjacent to important public places such as mosques, government installations. Personnel of the Elite Force, Mujahid Force, Quick Response Force, PRU, Dolphin Force and law enforcement agencies will patrol the sensitive areas. Policemen deputed at the police stations are also directed to keep a vigilant eye on all crowded places situated in their respective jurisdictions.
Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Amin Wains said that Lahore Police would remain on high alert in order to maintain peaceful atmosphere and harmony in the provincial metropolis on the occasion. Meanwhile, District Coordination Officer (DCO) Captain (r) Usman has said that foolproof security and other arrangements have been arranged for the occasion. A spokesman for the City Traffic Police Sunday said that the traffic police had chalked out a comprehensive traffic plan and a torch-bearing rally would be conducted to maintain traffic flow across the city today (Monday). He said more than 1,000 traffic wardens would be deputed on the city roads to maintain traffic flow.
