Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Sunday held consultations with legal advisers regarding cases against the Sharif family.
As per the details garneered, the former premier directed his counsel team to utilise all legal options in the cases against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President Shehbaz Sharif.
Former PM’s lawyers Khawaja Haris, Azam Nazir Tarrar, Naseer Bhuta and former secretary prosecution Senator Rana Maqbool Ahmed reached Jati Umra to meet Nawaz.
On the occasion, Naseer Bhutta assured Shehbaz Sharif that his future remand would be duly opposed.
It is also expected that Nawaz Sharif will meet his brother, who is under judicial remand to National Accountability Bureau.
An accountability court on Tuesday granted the NAB a 14-day extension in the physical remand of former Punjab chief minister Shehbaz Sharif in the Ashiana Housing Scheme case.
On October 6, the NAB had arrested the PML-N president in the Ashiana Iqbal Housing Scheme case and presented him before an accountability court. The anti-graft body had then been granted a 10-day physical remand of the former Punjab CM.
According to the anti-graft body, Shehbaz cancelled the contract awarded to M/s Ch A Latif & Sons for infrastructure development of Ashiana Iqbal Housing Project and awarded it to CASA Developers.
“The former Punjab chief minister misused his powers and his actions caused a huge loss to the national exchequer,” the NAB prosecutor had said. However, Shehbaz denied the allegations as “false and baseless”.
