Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif warned on Monday that the ‘people of the container’ would have to pay for whatever they had been doing, media reports said.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz supremo in the party’s central executive committee meeting – summoned over Shehbaz Sharif’s arrest – said that the contemporary circumstances were not new to the party as the leaders and workers have had a glorious history of giving sacrifices.
“We won’t be silenced. Our building momentum could not be stopped,” he said. “The fools are shooting themselves in their feet.” Nawaz also expressed reservations over the rising inflations and the government’s policies regarding the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
“We have strong reservations on the revised CPEC contracts,” he said, adding that the government had made life difficult for the poor.
