KHAIRPUR: The pre-entry test 2018 for admissions to masters programmes in different faculties and teaching departments of Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) Khairpur’s main campus and Shikarpur campus was held on Tuesday.
More than 1,000 candidates appeared in the test.
Prof Dr Parveen Shah, vice chancellor of university, said that conducting entry test in such a centralised manner would ensure transparency and equal opportunity to all.
“We are trying our best to give youth best facilities and guidance they need in achieving goals of life. I am pleased to share that in recent ranking by Higher Education Commission, our varsity has improved its ranking considerably in public sector universities of the country and it was a matter of pride that Shah Abdul Latif University has availed ISO 9001:2015 certification to manage its governance in a better way. So we are not only growing in size but also in our reputation across the country. The number of students appearing in today’s entry test is very impressive which is a glaring example and appreciation of our growing reputation and credibility.”
Dr Shah advised students that they should show real ownership of the university by following principles laid down by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
The Vice Chancellor announced that tuition fee of three position holders of today pre-entry test would be waived off.
Prof Dr Muhammad Yousuf Khushk, Dean Faculty of Arts and Languages, Prof Dr Syed Noor Shah Bukhari, Dean Faculty of Management Sciences, Prof Dr Mumtaz Hussain Mahar, Dean Faculty of Physical Sciences, Prof Dr Badaruddin Memon, Dean Faculty of Natural Sciences, Prof Dr Ghulam Sarwar Markhand, Director Ghotki Campus, Prof Dr Taj Muhammad Lashari, Media Coordinator, Prof Dr Muhammad Hassan Khaskheli, Prof Dr Ghulam Ali Mallah, Muhammad Hassan Shaikh, Ms Paras Niaz Khaskheli and others were present during the test.
