ISLAMABAD: According to sources, Supreme Court Judge Justice Qazi Faez Isa while hearing a case, took notice of the protests being held by religious parties at Islamabad’s Faizabad interchange on Tuesday.
He remarked that “Which Islam teaches blockage of roads in such a way, which sharia allows use of derogatory language,”
Stating his annoyance, Qazi observed that that the protest is a violation of fundamental rights of the people mentioned in Article 14, 15 and 19 of the Constitution.
The judge also issued notices to Secretary Defence, Secretary Interior, IG Islamabad, IG Punjab and Advocate General to inform the court about the measures that were taken to protect basis rights of the general public.
The court is set to hear the case on Thursday.
