KARACHI: Police and Edhi sources on Thursday said that about 218 Indian fishermen have been released as a sign of goodwill from District Jail Malir.
An official of the Pakistan Railways said that the fishermen left the metropolis via the Allama Iqbal Express for Lahore to continue their journey to India. He added that they would arrive at Wagah border on Friday.
Edhi sources stated that the Edhi Foundation had provided Rs 500 each along with gifts to the fishermen.
Earlier, 220 Indian fishermen were released by Pakistan as a gesture of goodwill on the occasion of Christmas.
