ISLAMABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has commended the role and efforts of the polio workers engaged in the fight against the crippling disease. The governor informed media that the polio workers had managed to administer drops to more than 10 million children in spite of working in highly unfavourable conditions.
Regarding the recent incident whereby four children allegedly died from the administration of polio drops in Khyber Agency, the governor said that the forensic report suggested the children did not die of polio vaccination. He further requested the common people to ignore any propaganda against the polio campaign.
Quoting the report issued by Khyber Medical College’s Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, Jhagra said that no poisonous substance was found in the blood samples of the four children who died in Khyber Agency on December 21.
