ISLAMABAD: The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik has said that the police were engaging in Israeli-style oppressive tactics against political activists in Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service (KMS), Yasin in a statement in Srinagar said, “A police party from Nagbal police station raided the residence of JKLF activist Abdul Rashid and ordered him to court arrest within 24 hours.”
The JKLF chief severely criticised the police for issuing a warning to Abdul Rashid that in case of failure to appear in court, his house would be vandalized by police. The chief added, “This police giri is an Israeli style oppressive tactic.”
He said that the police were trying to prove themselves as more loyal than the king and were engaged in the worst kind of oppression on peaceful activists, which was highly condemnable.
