TOBA TEK SINGH: The death toll from the toxic liquor that was drunk during Christmas Eve in Toba Tek rose to 42 people on Thursday.
Three more victims undergoing treatment at a hospital died. Toba District Police Officer Usman Akram Gondal said the deaths had occurred due to consuming the liquor which was actually aftershave lotion. He said the aftershave lotion was sold as liquor to the people who lost their lives after consuming it.
The heirs and families of the victims attacked inquiry committee members and police personnel when they reached the area. They also chanted slogans against local administration and police.
