LAHORE: The government on Wednesday issued a notice to almost all major providers of pasteurised milk, asking them to explain reports which show that their products are unfit for human consumption.
The notice, which the Daily Times gained access to, stated that ten reports had been submitted with regards to samples of pasteurised milk which showed that apart from milk sold by PREMA, the products of all other major producers were unfit for human consumption.
The companies and products named in the notice included Doce Foods’ Doce milk, Gourmet Foods’ Gourmet Milk, Fauji Foods’ Nurpur Milk, Achaa Foods’ Achaa Milk, Sharif Dairies’ Anhaar Milk and Daily Dairy Milk, Adams Foods’ Adams Milk, Cakes and Bakes’ Nutrivo Milk and Al-Fajr Dairy and Foods’ Al-Fajr Milk. All the companies have been asked to explain their position to the government in regards to the results of the reports.
