LAHORE: During these two years in Lahore, at least 99 rape cases have been reported however, none of them have reached a logical conclusion so far.
According to an investigative report, at least 13 molestation cases were filed in 2015, whereas 86 complaints were received in 2016. The suspects arrested for these crimes were released over money.
According to one victim- who claimed to be gang-raped by a group of dacoits during a robbery bid – police lodged a case after 6 months that too only because they were directed by the court, but nothing further was done.
All victims expressed disappointment over the delay, despite inspector general’s vow. The locals raised severe concerns over the increasing number of rape cases. Citizens have demanded local authorities to bring the suspects involved in such crimes to justice.
