NEW YORK: Outgoing UN chief Ban Ki moon has asked Pakistan and India to move forward and solve their differences through dialogue.
UN Chief’s Deputy Spokesperson, Farhan Haq, told reporters that the Secretary General has had a very consistent position regarding the growing tensions between Pakistan and India.
“All I can say is that we are concerned about the increase in tensions along the Line of Control and have urged both governments to exercise restraint and have encouraged both nations to resolve the differences peacefully.”
In a statement issued last month, Ban had expressed deep concern over the deterioration of the situation along the LoC and called on towards the restoration of peace and stability in order to prevent any further escalation and loss of life.
