LAHORE: A three-day anti-polio drive kicked off in the provincial metropolis on Monday.
District Coordination Officer (DCO) Lahore Captain (r) Muhammad Usman launched the drive by administering polio drops to minor children in Riwaz Garden, Data Gunj Bakhsh Town.
Under the umbrella of district administration, over 4,300 polio teams will administer polio drops to over 1.6 million under-five children during three days of the drive across the city.
The DCO has appealed to parents to get their children vaccinated, and also cooperate with polio workers. He directed each town administrator to personally monitor performance of polio team. He said that special security arrangements had been taken to provide better protection security to polio workers.
The drive would continue till December 21.
