ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan high commissioner to India recently stated that political dialogue is the only viable solution to improve bilateral relations between the two countries.
In an interview, High Commissioner Abdul Basit said sooner or later Pakistan and India are bound to negotiate if they seek effective resolution.
When questioned about the current situation along the Line of Control, Abdul Basit said India should prioritize the resolution of core Jammu and Kashmir dispute in order to move forward.
He said Pakistan had always desired and strove for a sustained, comprehensive and meaningful dialogue with India on all issues without any pre-conditions.
Abdul Basit said peaceful, friendly and good neighbourly relations between Pakistan and India are essential for peace and development in South-Asian region.
