LAHORE: Lahore School of Economics (LSE) students, under the Dramatics Society, participated in the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) Dramafest 2016.
The event took place from November 18 to November 20 at LUMS. LSE was declared as the overall winners of the Dramafest ‘16. The students won awards in the categories of Best Actor (Male), Best Concept, Best Director, Best Technical, Best Comedy Play and Best Team.
Performing in front of theatre fanatics was an overwhelming experience for the students and being declared winners quadrupled their happiness. The students now want to improve the quality of their theatrical performances and artistic consciousness for better results in the future.
Established in 1993, LSE is an independent research university in Lahore that was chartered by the government in January 1997. It has currently 200 faculty members and over 3,000 students studying in undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate programmes. LSE was founded by Dr Shahid Amjad Chaudhry, a McGill-trained economist, who served as the deputy chair of the influential Planning Commission. LSE has two campuses, the Main campus and the City campus. The Main campus spreads over 35 acres and the city campus is located in Gulberg. Its faculty comprises of over 150 permanent faculty members with specialisations in Economics, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Mathematics & Statistics, Environmental Studies, Media Studies, Art and Design.
