ISLAMABAD: Dr Ejaz Qadeer, who conducted medical checkup of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif in prison, suffered a heart attack on Sunday night.
Qadeer was the head of the mdical team that recommended Nawaz be shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) after concducting the later’s medical checkup in the Adiala jail.
According to reports, the doctor is a cardiac patient and has suffered a heat attack before as well. He has two stents fitted in his heart.
He is currently being treated in the caridac center of the PIMS.

The convicted former prime minister was shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) from Adiala prison on the orders of the caretaker government on the Sunday.
Medics conducted a check-up of the former premier after he complained of chest pain and advised that he be shifted to a coronary care unit (CCU) immediately.
Imran wishes Nawaz a speedy recovery
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has prayed for the speedy recovery of ailing Nawaz.
In 2013, when the PTI chairman fell from a stage during a public gathering in Lahore, Nawaz had visited him in hospital.
Jailed for corruption
The former prime minister and his daughter Maryam Nawaz were arrested upon their arrival at the Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore following the accountability court’s verdict in the Avenfield property reference that sentenced them into jail for corruption.
