President Dr Arif Alvi Thursday ruled out any possibility of rolling back the 18th Amendment, Radio Pakistan reported.
Talking to a private TV channel, the president also negated any possibility of change in Pakistan’s foreign policy towards Israel. To a question about Prime Minister Imran Khan’s recent visit to Saudi Arabia, he said the country has hugely benefited from the tour. “The Saudi package entails oil supply on deferred payments and cash assistance to ease the balance of payment challenges. Saudi interest in setting up an oil refinery and mineral exploration in Reko Diq is another vital outcome of the prime minister’s visit,” he added.
Responding to a question about the National Action Plan (NAP), the president commended the role of the armed forces in stabilising the security situation of the country, especially Karachi.
President Alvi slammed the ongoing atrocities against innocent Kashmiris in the Indian-held Kashmir. To a question, he maintained that unity among people is key for achieving peace in the region, adding that Pakistan enjoys friendly ties with Iran and Turkey.
