ISLAMABAD: The accountability court on Friday directed the prosecution team of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to give arguments on November 29 over the confiscation of Rs 5 million surety bond submitted by Ishaq Dar’s guarantor.
NAB requested judge Muhammad Bashir to order the confiscation of the Rs 5 million surety bond submitted by Dar’s guarantor as he had failed to ensure the presence of the minister in the court.
Meanwhile, Ahmad Ali Quddusi also submitted his reply, requesting the court to grant him three weeks time to present Dar, who is undergoing medical treatment in London.
He requested the court not to confiscate the surety bond furnished by him as bail surety for Dar. The court then adjourned the hearing till November 29. Earlier on November 21, the court had declared Ishaq Dar an absconder due to his continuous absence on medical grounds from the hearing of a graft reference filed against him by NAB on the Supreme Court’s July 28, 2017 orders in the Panama Papers case.
