ISLAMABAD: Banned outfit Tehreek Nifaz-e-Shariat Mohammadi (TNSM)’s leader Maulana Sufi Muhammad on Saturday deemed waging war against Pakistan Army or killing a Muslim forbidden in Islam.
“The armed forces of Pakistan are mujahideen and whosoever wages a war against them is an apostate. This country continues to exist due to sacrifices of Pakistan Army,” Sufi Muhammad said talking to Express news.
Sufi Muhammad also termed the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) as apostates, while also stating that the banned group’s spearhead Mullah Fazlullah deserves a death penalty.
“I have even mentioned in my will that these people are worse than being apostates because they have tarnished the image of Islam more than the non muslims,” Sufi said.
The cleric also stated that killing of children and women is prohibited in Islam and those who carried out the attack on Army Public School (APS) in December 2014 are worse than infidels.
He also condemned the 2012 attack on Nobel Laureate Malala Yousufzai stating that he is in favour of education for both male and females.
Earlier this month, Sufi Muhammad was granted bail after 8 years in the prison by Peshawar High Court (PHC), citing his old age and deteriorating health condition.
