ISLAMABAD: Awami Muslim League (AML) Chairman Sheikh Rashid Ahmed was frustrated over Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) counsel Naeem Bukhari’s arguments and said that he does not seem to know the law and was making lengthy arguments for nothing.
He expressed these views after the hearing of Panama case in the Supreme Court (SC) and raised complaints with his colleague’s lawyers saying that Naeem Bukhari is making his arguments lengthy for no reason before the court.
“If I got an opportunity to make arguments before court, I would ask to summon the prime minister (PM) in the court, so that he records his statement on oath,” the AML chairman added.
Sheikh Rashid said that the National Assembly speaker did not accept his plea and summoned the meeting at 11 am. Around 12 parliamentarians were sent back to their houses under articles 62 and 63 of the constitution. He demanded the return of those 12 parliamentarians otherwise he said that the PM should be sent back too.
He further said that he hoped that he would get his turn on Wednesday. Sheikh Rashid consultated with his colleague lawyers and Naeem Bukhari, the counsel of PTI is likely to complete his argumentson Wednesday.
Sheikh Rashid would make his arguments before the court to prove the difference of PM’s public speeches and his addresses in the parliament under articles 62 and 63 of the constitution.
