LAHORE: Federal Minister for Human Rights Senator Kamran Michael on Friday stressed the need for protecting human rights and stopping its violation.
Addressing the launching ceremony of the Human Rights theme song “Roti Ankh kay Ansoo” here at the Alhamra, he said that a song regarding respect of humanity was missing so the song had been prepared to give a message of love.
He said that the song not only promote love but also create awareness about raising voice for the suppressed people of the society. The minister dedicated the song to the Kashmiri brethren who were struggling for their freedom. He said that people of Pakistan would never forsake their Kashmiri brethren.
On the ocassion, Azad Jammu Kashmir Minister Nasir Hussain Dar said that people of Pakistan feel the pain of Kashmiri people. He urged that every body should pray to Almighty Allah that Kashmir issue get resolved as per the aspirations of Kashmiri people.
It may be mentioned here that the song was sung by Shafqat Amanat Ali and Kamran Michael while its poetry credit goes to Jawwad Jaffery. Talking to media, the minister said that the Supreme Court had taken suo motu notice of Tayyaba torture case, adding that it was a supreme institution and every body respect the court orders.
