KHYBER AGENCY: Security forces on Tuesday claimed to have killed eight allegedly militants and injured scores of others in airstrikes in Koki Khel, a remote area of Tirah Valley of Khyber Agency.
Sources said that warplanes pounded suspected hideouts of the militants in the Pak-Afghan border area.
Two sanctuaries of militants were also destroyed in the air offensive, sources said.
The killed militants were stated to be volunteers of the Bara-based defunct organisation Lashkar-e-Islam (LI).
However, the casualties could not be independently confirmed due to lack of communication in the area.
After clearing lower Bara of miscreants by the forces in Khyber-1 and Khyber-2 military operations, the militants took refuge in the remote and mountainous areas of Tirah Valley.
