PESHAWAR: A police official was shot dead by unidentified men on Tuesday near his house in Muslimabad.
Meanwhile, in another incident, the Counter-Terrorism Department and intelligence officials conducted a raid and apprehended two alleged terrorists of Tehreek-e-Taliban Swat. Security officials privy to the incident informed media that the suspects had been trained in manufacturing improvised explosive devices in Afghanistan.
Peshawar has been at the receiving end of terror attacks for many years due to its close proximity to the hotbed of Taliban insurgency in Waziristan. Security forces often become the victims of these attacks as they are engaged in the fight against terrorists.
