ISLAMABAD: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Thursday sought information, related to the release of fake pictures of key government and judicial figures, from various social media sites.
In a statement, Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control spokesman said that in compliance of the court orders, the FIA formally requested the managements of different social media sites in this regard.
The objective of the move was to disclose the elements and their hidden motives for launching a negative campaign to damage the credibility of state institutions through social media.
He said that FIA had been directed to take prompt action, so that the elements involved in the propaganda against state institutions may be brought to justice.
