PESHAWAR: The district government has decided to cancel the No Objection Certificate (NOC) of those marriage halls that failed to provide facilities for car parking.
The decision was taken during a high-level meeting presided over by the District Nazim Muhammad Asim Khan. Key attendees of the meeting were Town-1 Nazim Zahid Nadeem, Infrastructure Town Officer Rasheedullah, and Assistant Tax Regulation Officer Muhammad Ayaz Khan Durrani.
During the meeting, it was decided that the NOCs of all those wedding halls that failed to make arrangements of car parking within two weeks would be cancelled.
The meeting was informed that majority of the marriage halls lacked the facility of car parking in Peshawar and the vehicles were mostly parked on roads, causing traffic jams besides creating problems for citizens.
The participants of the meeting were further informed that car parking facilities were not available in majority of the marriages halls located in Gulbahar and City Circular Road in Peshawar City and the vehicles were parked on roads that obstructed the smooth flow of traffic especially during the night.
The meeting decided to give marriage halls two months to provide parking facilities for vehicles.
