GUJRANWALA: In a private hospital on Monday, a family assaulted a lady doctor after her alleged negligence claimed a newborn’s life.
According to reports, in a private maternity home around two days ago, a newborn child died, prompting the affected family to storm the facility and torture the lady doctor.
A resident of Gakhar, who was nine months pregnant, was getting checked by Dr Rubina Anwar, wife of Medical Superintendent (MS) of District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital, at her private hospital on GT Road.
The mother said that Rubina reported her case to be normal throughout her visits. However, the family was later advised to take the patient to a hospital in Lahore with better facilities due to ‘mishandling’ during the operation.
The newborn died in a hospital in Lahore, according to the family.
