KARACHI: Voting process for by-election in NA-258 constituency of Karachi’s Malir District has been initiated, 8:00 am today (Monday).The polling would continue till 5:00 pm without any break. Reportedly, PPP’s candidate Abdul Hakeem Baloch is likely to win the by-election as the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have already boycotted the polls. Police and Rangers personnel have been deployed to guard the polling stations. Out of 287 polling stations, 68 have been declared highly sensitive, while the other 219 polling stations were regarded sensitive. Earlier the elections were scheduled on November 24, but the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) postponed the polls due to the delay in security arrangement. The seat was vacated by former PML-N’s MNA Hakeem Baloch, who resigned from the party and joined the PPP.
