Australia’s pace bowling trio wrecked havoc to rip Pakistan’s batting order apart.
Pakistan were 97/8 at stumps on day 2 as Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc picked up three wickets each. Only Sarfraz Ahmed stood tall with a composed knock For Pakistan.
Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc’s impressive bowling proved vital as Australia took control of the first day-night Test in Brisbane. Pakistan ended the second day on 97-8, 332 runs behind Australia’s first innings total of 429.
Hazlewood took 3 wickets while giving away 19 runs – including two wickets in two balls – and Starc finished with impressive figures as well, 3-45. Earlier, Nathan Lyon and Jackson Bird put on 49 runs for the final Australian wicket after Peter Handscomb completed his maiden Test century.
Mohammad Amir had earlier provided his best bowling figures since his return to Test cricket in July following a five-year ban with 4-97, while Wahab Riaz took 4 wickets.
