TURBAT: Balochistan Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai has said that the world is speedily changing, which is demanding to ascertain new priorities and evolving comprehensive strategy to achieve targets.
While addressing participants at first convocation of University of Turbat on Wednesday, the governor said that education is a top priority and news vistas are being found to provide employment to the youth.
The governor said it is proud moment for him to be present at the University of Turbat’s first convocation. He said, “The secret of success of developed nations lies in their education system and we have to harmonise with modern trends of the world to materialise our dream of prosperity and progress.”
He said Turbat University would play a key role at the start of CPEC project in social and economic development of the area. He was sure that owing to its location university would help to make possible bright future of the province.
Referring to International Women Day, Governor Achakzai said that it is a good day today because women of Balochistan have no dearth of abilities, but the lack of resources and opportunities is hurdle in their way. He hoped that passed out students of Turbat University would utilise their knowledge and experience in the best interest of nation and country.
He called upon them to brighten their minds with modern education to meet modern and industrial society requirements and demands.
He appreciated vice chancellor and his team for making first convocation successful and it would be a memorable even in the life of students and their parents.
Earlier, a smartly turned out contingent of District Police presented salute to the governor. The new academic block and science laboratory in the premises of the campus were inaugurated by the governor.
Former Balochistan chief minister speaking on the occasion said that acquiring education is only sources to harmonise latest demands of the world. He said efforts of teachers of Turbat University to enlighten minds of youth, providing quality education and timely completion of academic session in far flung areas like Turbat is praise worthy. He said, “We realise in what difficult situation we started this institution and continued our educational journey in deteriorated situation.”
He called upon passed out students both girls and boys to do much efforts for securing MPhil and Phd degrees and utilise their abilities for the progress and prosperity of nation.
He also announced Rupees 30 million for providing laptops to the passed out students.
Governor Achakzai and Dr Malik Baloch distributed gold medals and conferred degrees among the students.
