RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) seized a large quantity of drugs weighing 4.76 tonnes – worth Rs 14.5 billion in the international market.
According to ANF officials, six operations were conducted at Qilla Abdullah, Karachi, Khairpur, Lahore, Peshawar and Shekhupura – from which drugs comprised of 26.6 kg Hashish, 1.3 kg Heroin, 3,537.6 kg Opium and 1,201 kg Amphetamine were seized.
Six persons have been sent behind bars and the anti-narcotics teams impounded three vehicles – being used in the smuggling of these drugs. The ANF Quetta recovered 3,534 kg Opium and 1,201 kg Amphetamine from General Area Killi Roghani Tehsil Chaman, District Qilla Abdullah.
The ANF Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar recovered 20 kg Hashish, 750 gram Heroine, 3.6 Opium, 6 kg Hashish and 70 capsules – weighing 550 gram – of Heroin and netted the drug smugglers.
All cases had been registered at respective ANF police stations and further investigation was underway.
