ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi visited the Iranian Embassy on Tuesday to express his condolences at Ayatollah Rafsanjani’s demise.
Ayatollah Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, the former President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Chairman of the Expediency Council, passed away on 8th January this year.
Fatemi delivered a message expressing Pakistan’s heartfelt sorrow at the loss of the great Iranian leader. He said that he would be remembered as one of the pioneers of the revolution in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The diplomat called his demise a loss not only for Iran but also for Pakistan who considered him a true friend and well wisher.
