PESHAWAR: Health Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is committed to improve the health facilities and provide quality of health service to the people at their door steps.
This was stated by Senior Minister Health Shahram Khan Tarakai while talking to United States Agency for International Development (USAID) team on Monday.
The USAID has provided $6 million for reconstruction and rehabilitation of basic health facilities in Malakand division because the militancy and terrorism.
The sources in the Provincial Disaster Management Authority Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (PMAKP) informed Daily Times that these basic health units were damaged by terrorists in 2008-09.
The sources further said that Ninety percent of these health facilities have already been rehabilitated and reshaped in Malakand division and the remaining would be upgraded soon.
The sources further informed that the reformation and rehabilitation of these destroyed basic health units was in focus of our province .due to huge damage by the terrorists to the basic health unites it took us time to advance these units. The Basic health care unites were reshaped and decorated with basic health care facilities, sources added.
The Health department KP is rationalizing public health, financing and universal health converge. the Health department KP is reorganizing the public health financing & funding for an efficient and equitable healthcare system .the sources in the health department said the reorganization ,healthcare financing and universal health coverage are in the domain of Health department to be delivered to public .
Paradigm shift is even in the health department after regulating public and private sector to ensure quality healthcare.
The Health department informed daily times that with special focus on mother & child along with school health program initiated by the provincial government .we are going to announce new schemes for the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The health department has tried to modify the behavior of the target populations and health care providers.
