KARACHI: Former senator and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Sherry Rehman almost failed to make it to Garhi Khuda Bux to attend the 9th death anniversary of former prime minister late Benazir Bhutto, when she boarded a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight for Multan instead of Sukkur on Tuesday morning.
In order to express her reservations about the incident, the senator took to the micro-blogging site Twitter. The former senator said, “PIA boarded us on the wrong ATR for Multan instead of Sukkur,” followed by a prayer emoticon. She further added, “Now on right plane but no bakra in sight,” referring to the recent incident of sacrificing a goat before take-off of a PIA plane.
The PIA spokesman Danyal Gilani confirmed that the incident did take place and the matter was currently under investigation. Gilani said that the management was trying to ascertain how the PPP senator boarded the wrong plane.
